Artwork in the room
"K. Česonytė’s paintings are variations on Expressionist painting: characterized by a trembling touch, energetic brushstrokes, and expressive paint textures with which she often seems to 'sculpt' figures, objects, and landscape elements. In terms of genre, the scope of her work is quite traditional. Landscapes predominate, though the artist has also painted a series of still lifes, numerous urban scenes, and the occasional stylized portrait. Yet, other aspects of K. Česonytė’s painting align her less with classical modernist art and more with the imagery of the contemporary, media-saturated world. 'My tools are the computer and virtual space,' she says. The visual imagery in her paintings derives not from reality itself, but from a virtual—or secondary—reality. For this creative artist, however, that serves merely as a springboard or a starting signal that liberates both imagination and hand. In her work, this secondary reality—or a chance motif—and the artist’s imagination most often intertwine inseparably. Images suggested by modern media are transformed into authentic visions, deeply and sensitively experienced by the painter herself."

About this artwork+
This painting, "Blurry still-life" by Kristina Česonytė, is an intriguing piece. At first glance, it appears to capture simple objects like bottles and a bowl. The artwork uses a thick, dripping paint technique on a corrugated surface, giving it a strong texture. Colors like green, blue, and red pop against the neutral background. Česonytė's style here is abstract. She cleverly blends colors and lines, allowing the viewer's eye to move throughout the canvas. Each drip and stroke adds a unique character to the overall composition. It feels vibrant yet chaotic, pulling viewers in to explore the details. Through her choice of materials and application, Kristina pushes the boundaries of traditional still-life, making it modern and expressive.
