Artwork in the room
Živilė Vaičiukynienė is a contemporary Lithuanian artist and painter based in Kaunas and Prienai, an officially recognized artist, a creator of original jewellery, and a curator of international art projects. She has actively participated in exhibitions and plein-air painting events since 2007. Her unique, one-of-a-kind works have found their way into private collections across Europe, including Latvia, Estonia, Ukraine, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, the United Kingdom, and Spain, as well as the Republic of South Africa.
In the artist’s oil and acrylic paintings, contemporary interpretations of nature become metaphors that open up a space for reflecting on the human inner world. Mystery is at the heart of her artistic practice. She never reveals everything entirely, leaving room for the viewer’s intuition. This sense of freedom and lightness is enhanced by her fluid, expressive brushwork, poetic imagery, and subtle interplay of light.
The expressive, raised textures on her canvases lend the works a tactile depth, transforming the magical world she creates into more than a visual focal point within an interior: it becomes a space for tranquillity and contemplation. Her aim is not to reproduce visible reality, but to bring light, a quiet dialogue, and spiritual harmony into the surrounding environment.

About this artwork+
The painting presents a lush, verdant scene under what appears to be gentle rainfall. Several slender trees with dark, intertwined trunks stand prominently, their branches heavy with green, multi-tonal leaves. The foliage is rich in tones of jade and emerald, dotted with hints of yellow, suggesting a lively, yet serene, summer canopy. Intriguingly, abstract spiral shapes float amongst the branches, adding a whimsical or dreamlike quality to the scene. In the background, a muted blue and green landscape suggests distance and adds depth, creating a contrast with the vibrant greenery in the foreground. The overall mood is one of tranquility and the quiet dynamism of nature during a rain shower.
